AWP sponsors six contests, and also provides an extensive listing of literary grants, awards, and publication opportunities available from organizations and publishers throughout North America. Our own contests include the AWP Award Series, the George Garrett Award, the Small Press Publisher Award, the Intro Journals Project, the Kurt Brown Prizes, and the National Program Directors’ Prize.

ROYAL PALM AWARDS
The Florida Writers Association offers two writing contests annually. Both cross broad areas of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, and both are open to adults and youth who are judged separately.
Royal Palm Literary Awards (RPLA) is a prestigious writing competition recognizing extraordinary writing in 27+ genre categories for adults. It provides constructive assessments to all entrants.
